On a roll (literally)

This morning I was getting ready for church and I put Felicity on a blanket in our bedroom to play. I stepped out of the bathroom and this is what I saw:

Do you see her? WAY over there under the curtains...this little rascal rolled all the way over there in a matter of seconds. This is not the first time this has happened. I'm sure this is only just the beginning of her getting into lots of trouble!

Arboretum fun

Last Saturday we went to the Arboretum bright and early with the Clevelands. I love going to Arboretum, although I have to say, it is probably best visited in the spring or fall. Regardless, it was lovely to get out in the morning and enjoy the gardens.

This is the bench where Justin and I got engaged, so of course we had to get a pic with the Lici-bear. The lighting is not the greatest, but oh well.

I didn't know it, but they had a whole Peter Rabbit thing going on...I love Peter Rabbit. Isn't this one made out of flowers precious?

Fe even got her picture with the "real thing." I guess this can substitute for seeing the Easter bunny, since we didn't take her this year.

I had great intentions of getting lots of beautiful pics of Felicity in the flowers, but it was just too darn hot. We snapped this one at the end with Rachel trying to balance her. I think it will be much easier when she is able to sit on her own, but this pic turned out pretty cute.

Then at the end of the day my parents randomly showed up at our house driving this:
Long story...
Please look closely at their cheesy faces.

Neighbors again!

My dear friend Leah (who's getting married in Dec.) just moved back to Dallas and is living less than 10 min. away from us. Leah and I were neighbors in the Village when we first moved to Dallas over 5 years ago. She is a great neighbor, a wonderful friend and I'm so happy to have her so close again. Felicity and I
stopped by to check out her cute house and say hi.

(Is it just me or does my hair look ridiculously long in this picture? Maybe it just is ridiculously long. I need a haircut...at least a trim.)

Longview weekend-o-fun

For the past three years we've spent a weekend each summer at the lake with a group of friends, but this year it was a bit difficult to coordinate with the babies/pregnant women, so the couples trip became a guys trip. I sent Justin with one of our cameras, but he came back with no pictures...boys. :-)

Since Justin was gone, Felicity and I loaded up and went to Longview for the weekend. We spent time hanging out with my grandparents, made homemade Butterfingers ice cream, went swimming and shopping.

Aren't my grandparents the cutest?

They watched Felicity for a bit while my mom and I went shopping. I told my grandma that Felicity is rolling all over the place now, so when she put her down for her nap on her bed, she barricaded her in with pillows. It thought it was so funny.

Swimming with Poppy

Much like everything else, my mom saved a lot of our old toys. Every time we visit Longview, my parents have a blanket laid out with "vintage" toys for Fe to play with. At first I was worried about the old plastic that's not BPA-free and Lici putting it in her mouth. My mom quickly pointed out that we all chewed on them and were fine...she has a point.

We missed Justin, but had lots of fun hanging out in L-view!

July 4

Things were pretty low key around our house for the 4th this year, but we did manage to get out on the 3rd for our neighborhood 4th of July parade and party. I'm pretty sure Felicity was the youngest entrant in the parade. I decorated her stroller and our family of four (including Olive) walked in the parade. It was really nice to get out and meet some other folks in our neighborhood. We were really surprised at how many young people live near us. For the most part, we've really only met older people who are the original owners of these houses mostly built in the late 60's/early 70's. I love having them as neighbors, but it's nice to have a mix of young and old. Here's a few pics of the festivities...

4 months

This little chick-a-dee is now 4 months old!

A few things to note about where we are now:

  • I've recently dropped a feeding, so now she's eating four times a day: 7:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

  • Sleeping at night is now at 12 hours straight - glorious!! She takes two 2 hour naps during the day and usually a little catnap around 5:30 p.m.

  • She continues to love chewing on hands...her hands, my hands, your hands - she loves eating ALL hands

  • Rolling lots - tummy to back, back to tummy and across the room...she now prefers being on her tummy

  • Still lots of smiles and now laughs! You have to catch her at the right time, but it is pure bliss when she gets the giggles. You can't help but laugh with her.

  • Spitting and blowing bubbles are also some new interests she's acquired. I call her my little parakeet, as she's constantly making little chirping, squealing sounds.

  • She LOVES to "stand." That is probably her favorite position to be in. She stands in my lap all the time and coincidentally almost all of my shirts have holes in them near the hem at the bottom. We recently got her an exersaucer and she's very content playing in there.

  • She's getting much better and more interested in holding toys, picking them up and, of course, putting them in her mouth

  • She's wearing size 6-9 months, but will probably be out of the 6 months size before we know it
At her 4 month check-up everything looked good. She weighed in at 16 lbs. 11 oz. and 26 inches long. She is still over 95% on both of those, but the doctor said instead of being WAY off the chart like she was at the beginning, she's now just a little off the chart. I guess that's a good thing. Her head measured at 16 1/4 inches, which is 50%. We plan to start rice cereal at 5 1/2 months, which I'm sure will be quite a trip.
She's developing quite the personality...

And a close up of those adorable rolls...

I think she's starting to show off a bit...
"Ta daaa!"

Johnny Jump Nowhere

Felicity recently received a Johnny Jump Up as a gift, but I'm not quite sure she's figured out how to use it. The first time we put her in it, she basically used it as a teething ring:

She's now making some improvements, but hasn't yet started "jumping".

At least I can keep an eye on her while I'm in the kitchen...
