A very big thank you to my mom who stayed with us for the first week while I recovered from the c-section. What would we have done without her help with the middle of the night diaper changes, cleaning and cooking? Plus we made lots of fun memories and enjoyed spending some good quality time together.

Coming home...and Olive

Felicity was born on a Wednesday and we came home from the hospital that Saturday. She came home in the same pink cotton Feltman outfit that I came home from the hospital in. We also wrapped her in the same blanket that my mom and I both came home from the hospital in! If you know my mom at all, it will not surprise you that she brought three boxes full of my baby clothes and blankets for Felicity to wear. It will also not surprise you that they are in perfect condition and still very much in vogue.

Justin's parents were gracious enough to watch Olive while we were in the hospital (and basically any other time we are out of town). Once we were back, they brought him over for his initial meeting with his baby sister.

Felicity McClain Cleveland Arrives!

I will post details of the birth story later, but just because I promised...here are some pics from the birth of our littlest lady, Miss Felicity McClain Cleveland. She was born March 3, 2010 at 2: 15 p.m. weighing in at 9 lbs. 8 oz. and 21 1/2 inches. She has blonde hair that seems to be getting a little darker everyday and blue eyes. We could not be more thankful for such a precious, healthy gift. While there are the definitive dark circles under our eyes, we couldn't love anything more and are enjoying every minute with her. She is such a blessing!








Finally...

So, I've finally given in and started a blog...

With the arrival of our new little one, I figure this is the best way to keep everyone updated and provide pics of what is going on in the Cleveland household. I will admit that creating a blog is something I've debated about for quite some time. I have enjoyed reading so many friends' blogs and keeping up with what's going on in their worlds; however, sometimes I find myself getting caught with feelings of discontentment. What I mean is, sometimes when reading others' blogs, I end up with those "I wish" feelings...looking at their stories and thinking that sometimes my daily life isn't as exciting or interesting, when that isn't true at all.

I am working on applying this verse to my life in more ways than one:

"I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength."
Philippians 4:11-13

So...all of that to say, I will, of course, be sharing mostly happy and joyous moments in this space, because those are the ones we want to remember and cherish. But please know, that our life consists of many more moments than these...some better, some worse...but all part of what makes Justin, Felicity, Olive and me, our own unique and wonderful family that God designed.
